Un Institut à l'interface entre la recherche fondamentale et la recherche clinique sur le fonctionnement normal et pathologique du cerveau.
L'Institut de Neurosciences Cognitives de la Méditerranée (INCM) est une unité mixte de recherche (UMR) créée par le CNRS et l'Université de la Méditerranée. Notre principal objectif est de développer des recherches interdisciplinaires, à l'interface entre les approches fondamentale et clinique, sur les mécanismes cérébraux de la perception, les émotions, la cognition et l'action.
Le programme de recherche de l'Institut repose sur 5 atouts majeurs :
- Un concept de traitements neuronaux dynamiques, dépendants du contexte
- Interdisciplinarité de proximité
- Une concentration unique de spécialistes en primates non humains
- Une interaction étroite entre chercheurs et cliniciens, et
- Des plates formes technologiques modernes (plate forme IRMf 3T, Imagerie optique chez le primate vigile, Systèmes d'enregistrements multi-electrodes, la stimulation magnétique transcrânienne, MEG et EEG).
